BLESSING OF PETS SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 4TH
AT BUBOLZ MEMORIAL PARK IN REEDSVILLE
A “Blessing of the Pets” will be held at Bubolz Memorial Park in Reedsville at 11:30 a.m. on October 4, 2014. Father Timothy Brandt of Holy Family Parish, Brillion, will officiate, and pet owners of all denominations are welcome.
A privately sponsored event, the pet blessing will be conducted in support of efforts to raise funds for the renovation of the playground area and the establishment of the Reedsville “Park & Bark” dog park at Bubolz Memorial Park. There will be no charge for attendees. Light refreshments will be sold and donations are welcome.
According to Mary Olson, one of the event’s sponsors, “Pets of all kinds hold a special place in our lives. Research has shown the many ways in which they add to our physical and psychological health. There are also many instances in which pets have alerted owners and their families to danger and saved lives. The pet blessing is our way of offering thanks for their companionship and asking divine protection for their health and well-being.”
Owners are urged to use leashes or other means of restraint to maintain control. Barking, meowing, tweeting and other “pet sounds” are permitted!
